A natural way towards health and beauty

Aloe Vera consists mostly of water - like a cucumber. The remaining part is a mixture of important substances like vitamins, minerals, enzymes and proteins. The scientists have discovered about 200 different substances in Aloe Vera. One of these are the important polysackarides that seem to be the secret behind how Aloe Vera works and what conducts the synergy effect that has given this plant nicknames like among many; "The healing plant". The research continues on finding out WHY Aloe Vera works. What we do know is that it DOES work....at least according to the millions of people around the world that uses and has used Aloe Vera for thousands of years because of its´unique qualities.

Aloe Vera has been used as a medical plant since 400 B.C. and is well known throughout the world for its soothing qualities. The desert plant Aloe Vera, is part of the lily-family and was by the ancient Egyptians called "The Plant of Immortality". For the Chinese it was the "Elixir of Youth" and today, extensive academic research shows that there is truth to these statements which can refer to various positive effects with Aloe Vera for external and internal use.

The Aloe Vera plant grows in dry, hot climates but is known for its will to survive in the most extreme environments. Commercial growth of Aloe Vera mostly takes place in great plantations in the USA, Mexico and the Caribians, Spain and Australia. Of the 350 known species of Aloe, it is the Aloe Barbadensis Miller ("The True Aloe") which is mostly used in the cosmetics-, and pharmacy industry.
Sasco uses certified Aloe Vera from two of the largest and well-reputated producers in the world today; Aloe Corp (www.aloecorp.com) and Terry Laboratories (www.terrylabs.com)

Whole Leaf eller Inner leaf Aloe Vera

Sasco uses only innerleaf Aloe Vera which is the classical way of preparing Aloe Vera for commercial use. This secures a high quality Aloe Vera without aloin (which is a purgative and not wanted in the use of Aloe Vera) but that with all the other active and important ingredients that makes Aloe Vera so special; amino acids, minerals, vitamins and polysaccharides.

A "cheaper" way of preparing Aloe Vera is to crush the whole leaf including the peel (Whole-leaf Aloe Vera). To avoid the aloin, the Aloe Vera is sent through a coalfiltering process. The problem is that we don´t know today which other active ingredients are also filtered away in the process. This is the reason why Sasco prefers to use inner-leaf Aloe in the manufacturing.
